Account Deletion
Version 2026-10-06, effective 6 October 2026
This page explains how to delete your account in Zadak / زادك, the nutrition and recipe app for Android developed by MYZADAK, an independent technology startup based in Zahle, Bekaa, Lebanon ("we", "us"). It covers deleting your account in the app, asking us to delete it if you can't use the app, what we delete, and what we keep and for how long.
In short
- In the app, go to Profile, then Security, then Delete account.
- Can't use the app? Email support@myzadak.com from your account's email address with the subject "Account deletion request". We reply with a confirmation code, and a member of our team handles the request by hand.
- If you pay for Zadak Premium, cancel it in Google Play first. Deleting your account does not cancel it.
- Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
- In the app, unless one of the cases under "When deletion can't start yet" applies, your account is locked as soon as you confirm, and your personal data is normally deleted within minutes. Some records are kept, mostly without your identity, and backup copies expire after the periods listed below.
Before you delete
Cancel Zadak Premium in Google Play
Zadak Premium is an optional subscription that you buy and pay for through Google Play. We never receive your card details. Deleting your Zadak account does not cancel your subscription. Google Play keeps renewing it until you cancel it in Google Play.
To cancel, go to your Google Play subscriptions (in the Play Store app: tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions). If the Zadak app shows your subscription as active, you can also tap Profile → Zadak Premium → Manage subscription in Google Play. It is best to cancel before you delete your account, but you can still cancel in Google Play afterwards. Google Play handles refunds under its own refund policies. The app's Confirm account deletion screen also reminds you of this and links to your Google Play subscriptions.
Keep anything you want
Zadak does not currently offer a way to download your account data. If you want to keep a recipe, save or share it as a PDF from the app before you delete your account.
When deletion can't start yet
In a few cases the app will not start the deletion until something is sorted out, because other people or business records depend on your account:
- You own a partner club on Zadak that has not been closed, including a club that is suspended or not yet live. The club's ownership needs to be transferred, or the club closed, first.
- You are a nutritionist with a commercial enrollment with us (the business agreement between you and us as a nutritionist) that is active or paused. The enrollment needs to be ended first.
- A finalised commercial statement on your account has not been fully settled.
- Your account is the last remaining administrator account for Zadak. This applies only to members of our team.
If one of these applies, the app shows Removal needs a review with a message, and nothing on your account changes: it is not locked and nothing is deleted. Tap Email Zadak support on that message, or email us at support@myzadak.com, and we will help you resolve it. Owning or managing a community group does not stop you from deleting your account (see "What we keep, and why" below).
Delete your account in the app
- Open the Zadak app and sign in.
- Tap Profile in the bottom bar.
- Under Account, tap Security ("Password, email and account deletion").
- Under Danger zone, tap Delete account.
- Read the Confirm account deletion message, which also reminds you that deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription and links to Manage subscription in Google Play, then tap Delete account permanently.
- If the app shows Verify your identity, enter your password and tap Continue deleting account.
If you signed in more than five minutes ago, the app asks for your password again. This protects you if someone else picks up your unlocked phone.
If you never confirmed your email address, the app asks you to do that before you can go further. Confirm it using the link in the verification email and then delete your account in the app, or ask us by email (see below).
If your app is in Arabic, the same options are labelled حسابي (Profile), الحساب (Account), الأمان (Security), منطقة الخطر (Danger zone), حذف الحساب (Delete account), تأكيد حذف الحساب (Confirm account deletion), حذف الحساب نهائيًا (Delete account permanently), إدارة الاشتراك في Google Play (Manage subscription in Google Play), تأكيد الهوية (Verify your identity) and متابعة حذف الحساب (Continue deleting account).
What happens after you confirm
- Your account is locked straight away. No one can sign in to it, you are signed out on the device you used, and any nutritionist you work with immediately loses access to your Care data. Any other device that was signed in to your account loses access within an hour at most.
- Deletion runs automatically on our servers. It normally finishes within a few minutes, and you don't need to keep the app open. If a step fails, it is retried automatically and your account stays locked.
- A follow-up check runs automatically about one to two hours later to confirm that nothing was left behind.
- Deletion cannot be undone. A deleted account cannot be recovered. To use Zadak again you would need to create a new account. Your old data and your old username will not come back.
If the app shows Removal needs a review, read the message under it. If it mentions a partner club, a commercial enrollment or a commercial statement, deletion has not started and your account is not locked (see "When deletion can't start yet" above). Otherwise, the deletion has usually started but could not finish automatically, and your account stays locked. In either case, tap Email Zadak support on that message or email us at support@myzadak.com, and we will look into it.
Ask us to delete your account without the app
If you can't use the app, for example because you uninstalled it, lost your phone, can't sign in or never confirmed your email address, you can ask us by email to delete your account. A member of our team handles these requests by hand; they are not automatic. If you can still sign in, deleting in the app is quicker.
- Email support@myzadak.com from the email address you use to sign in to Zadak, with the subject line Account deletion request. You can write in English or Arabic.
- If you can, include the display name or username on your account. This helps us find it.
- We reply to your account's email address with a confirmation code. To confirm, reply to that message from the same address and include the code. If we don't hear back within 14 days, we close the request and nothing changes; you can write again at any time.
- Once you confirm, we lock your account: you are signed out everywhere and can no longer sign in. We then check whether one of the cases under "When deletion can't start yet" applies. If one does, nothing is deleted yet: your account stays locked and we tell you what needs to happen first.
- We then delete your account with the same deletion process as the app, and we let you know when it is done.
To protect your account, we act only on requests confirmed from the account's email address, and we will never ask for your password. If you no longer have access to that address, we can't verify a request by email, so we can't delete the account this way.
We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days of your confirmation. Everything on this page about what is deleted and what is kept applies, and so do the cases above where deletion can't start yet.
What we delete
When deletion is complete, the following is deleted from our live systems:
- Your sign-in account, including your email address and password, and any roles on it.
- Your profile: name, gender, age, profile photo, diet type and allergies, and your community profile (display name, bio, profile and cover photos, and social links).
- Your health and Care data: your health profile, intake forms, measurements, Care meal logs and Care goals, including earlier versions and entries you had removed in the app.
- Your nutrition diary and your personal nutrition goals.
- Your recipes: your recipe history and favourites.
- Your activity and settings: notifications and notification settings, bookmarks, drafts, the hashtags you follow, the accounts you blocked, saved clubs, and your points and levels.
- Your devices and sign-ins: your list of registered devices, your login history and the tokens used to send notifications to your devices.
- Your stories and uploaded files: your stories and the photos and documents you uploaded, including images in your posts and group posts and any professional application or verification documents.
- Your connections: the people you follow, your followers, your likes and reactions, and your group memberships.
- Your appointment booking notes.
- Your club offer referrals and their codes.
- Your Premium record in Zadak: your entitlement and Premium history. This does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
- Your policy acceptances: the record of your 18+ confirmation and of which versions of the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines you accepted.
- Your Care relationships, which end, and the records nutritionists created about you as their client, such as nutrition plans, shared session summaries, goals and their reviews of your intake forms and meal logs. A nutritionist's private session notes are the one exception (see below).
What we keep, and why
Some records also belong to other people, or we need them for accounting, disputes, safety or legal reasons. We keep these in the smallest form we need and remove your identity from them wherever the record allows.
Content other people can see
- Your posts, comments, group posts and group chat messages. The text stays so that conversations other people took part in still make sense. Your name, username and photo are removed, and the content is shown as from a "Former user". Photos attached to your posts are deleted. Polls and like and comment counts stay. If you want your posts and comments in the community feed removed completely, delete them yourself before you delete your account.
- Messages in your Care chats stay visible to the nutritionist, shown as from a "Former user", so that their record of the conversation stays complete. Messages you deleted yourself stay deleted. If you want, you can delete your own messages in a Care chat before you delete your account (see "Delete some data without deleting your account" below).
- Reviews you wrote about a nutritionist stay with their rating and text, shown as from a "Former user". If the text of a review identifies you, email us and we will review whether that text can be removed.
- Community events you created stay, without your name.
- Groups you own are not deleted. Ownership passes automatically to an eligible admin of the group or, if there is none, to an eligible moderator. If no one is eligible, the group stays without an owner, and settings that only an owner can change are locked until we assign a new owner.
- Your username stays reserved permanently and is never given to anyone else, so no one can use it to pose as you. It is no longer linked to any account, and it cannot be used again, even by you.
- Notifications already delivered to other people, such as one saying you liked their post, may still show your old display name until they are removed automatically. Notifications that have been read are removed 90 days after they were sent, and all notifications are removed 365 days after they were sent.
Apart from your username and those notifications, the content in this list has no set end date. It stays for as long as the post, conversation, review, event or group remains on Zadak.
Appointments, clubs and business records
- Appointments. Appointment records (time, status, session type and the price recorded at booking), reschedule requests and no-show disputes stay, with your identity and your own written reasons removed. This keeps the nutritionist's records and any dispute accurate. Your booking notes are deleted.
- Partner club records. Offer redemptions, disputes about them and club applications you submitted stay, with your name, photo and contact details removed. We and the club need these for billing and to handle disputes. If you worked at a club, the club's record of your past staff role, and the redemptions you confirmed, stay linked to your former internal account ID (a random code our systems use to identify your account; it is not your name or email address).
- Reports and complaints you submitted stay as part of our moderation records, without your name; each keeps an internal reference made from your former account ID. They include any note you added and, for a report about an AI result, the copy of the AI result you reported.
There is currently no fixed end date for these records. They are kept until we set a retention period, and we will update this page when we do.
Records kept for legal, safety and security reasons
- A nutritionist's private session notes about you are kept unchanged. You could never see these notes. They are the professional's own working record, and we are reviewing whether professional record-keeping rules require us to keep them, and for how long.
- Security, audit and moderation records may be kept for legal, safety and fraud-prevention purposes. Examples are a record of actions our team took on your account, reports other users made about you, and the edit history of reviews. Some of these refer to your former account by its internal account ID.
- A record that your deletion was carried out. It holds dates, the result and counts of what was processed. Once the follow-up check has passed, it is identified only by a one-way code made from your former account ID, and it contains no name, email address or content. We use it to show that the deletion happened and to stop our systems from creating new data, such as notifications, for the deleted account.
- Small leftover records that hold only your former account ID and no name or photo, such as poll votes and event attendance entries, may remain.
- Your emails with us. If you write to us, for example to ask us to delete your account, we keep the emails and our replies, including your email address and the request's confirmation code, as a record of how we handled your request.
There is currently no fixed end date for the records in this section. They are kept until we set a retention period, and we will update this page when we do.
If you use Zadak as a nutritionist
- Your Care relationships with your clients end, and your public practice profile is no longer shown.
- Records you created about your clients, such as nutrition plans, shared summaries, goals and your reviews of their forms and logs, stay in your clients' history, shown as from a "Former Nutritionist". Your clients' own data is not affected.
- Messages you sent in Care chats, and your appointment records with clients, stay in your clients' history without your identity.
- Reviews of your practice, and your replies to them, stay with your identity removed.
- Your private session notes are kept as described above.
- Your commercial profile, statements and agreements with us are kept for accounting. There is currently no fixed end date for them; we will update this page when we set one.
- Your professional application and verification documents are deleted.
Data not linked to your account
When you generate a recipe, the request (ingredients, language, diet type and allergy notes) and the recipes produced are stored in a shared cache without your account ID, so the same request can be answered quickly for anyone. Because these entries are not linked to you, account deletion does not remove them. There is currently no fixed end date for them; we will update this page when we set one.
Copies in backups and logs
When deletion completes, the data listed under "What we delete" is removed from our live systems. Copies can remain for a limited time in systems that exist to recover from failures and to diagnose problems. We use them only for those purposes, and they are deleted automatically when their period ends:
- Database backups: up to 28 days. Daily backups are kept for 7 days and weekly backups for 28 days.
- Database point-in-time recovery, which lets us restore the database to an earlier moment: 7 days.
- Deleted photos and documents: recoverable by us for 7 days, then permanently removed.
- Service logs: 30 days. They may include your internal account ID.
- Administrative audit logs kept by Google Cloud for our project: up to 400 days. They record administrative actions on our systems and may include your internal account ID.
- Crash reports sent by the app: 90 days. They are linked to your internal account ID and are not removed when you delete your account. They expire on their own.
- Short-lived technical records, such as usage-limit counters and a temporary copy of a recent AI answer kept so that a retry does not repeat the request. They expire automatically, normally within two days.
- Google's sign-in service. Google runs our sign-in service (Firebase Authentication) and may keep deleted sign-in records in its own backup systems for up to 180 days, under Google's policies.
Delete some data without deleting your account
- Delete your own posts and comments in the community feed at any time. Deleting a post also deletes its photos.
- Delete your own messages in a Care chat. They then show as "This message was deleted". The text can still appear where someone quoted it in a reply, and in the chat list preview if it was the most recent message in the chat.
- Change or clear the optional details in your profile and your health profile at any time, such as your bio, social links, diet type and allergies, or health conditions and medications. Saving your health profile replaces the earlier values.
- Stories are deleted automatically about 24 hours after you post them.
- Removing a measurement or a Care meal log in the app hides it, but the entry and its history stay in your account until you delete the account.
- Data you delete or replace this way can remain in our backups for up to 28 days before the backups expire.
- For questions about your data, email support@myzadak.com.
